Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself…” – C.S. Lewis
Don’t you just hate, hate, hate self-promotion?
I mean, honestly, I was always lead to believe that if I have to tell you I’m the leader (or pretty or smart or witty or whatever!) then I’m probably not doing a very good job at whatever I’m professing to be.
That being said, it seems to be the norm to include a bit of background info on your ‘About Me’ page. I think this is so your good friends can roll their collective eyes and smirk at the facts you so delicately choose to share with the world and those that don’t know you can kind of get a sense of who you are on your best-est of days…like when there’s 0% humidity and your hair doesn’t fall, and when you’re not wearing the biggest size in your closet, and when charm and wit fall trippingly from your tongue…in other words, in your fantasy life.
So enough of the preamble, here’s the basics:
- I’m a lifelong Texas, more precisely, a Dallas ‘girl’ (cause don’t you know, we’re all really girls deep down), and with this heritage, I occasionally sport the big-hair pouf, I can barely utter a sentence without saying ‘ya’ll,’ and I have advanced merit badges in our fair city’s favorite pastime: shopping;
- I’ve been married to Double D (formally known as Doug, but only used when I’m aghast at something he’s said or done) forever—seriously, we got married the day after I graduated from college!!! Still crazy in love, but not gonna lie, we both work really hard at it;
- We’ve got 3 glorious kids (2 by birth, 1 we blessedly inherited through marriage). Our oldest, Ryan, married sweet, sweet Summer almost 4 years ago and our youngest is Hopey D (though her birth cert reads ‘Hope’). All three are amazing young adults now, but can’t say I wasn’t tempted to leave ‘em in a basket at Target a time or two when they were younger;
- I’ve been doing this writing/ghostwriting thing for about 6 years now and couldn’t be more blessed. The End.
